Once upon a time, I was on a Scrum team with a business user that couldn’t quite understand the software development process. This business user would drop little passive-aggressive bombs like “we need more process improvements to increase our project velocity.”
It was about as useful as telling people to “work smarter, not harder.” Wow – I never thought of working smarter! I’ll get right on that!
As a result, I couldn’t help but create the “Project Velocity Knob.”
Unfortunatley, it only lives as a digital image. I would have loved to make it in real life and install it on a manager’s office wall.
(I modified the original image that I stole from Granger: https://www.grainger.com/product/SPECO-TECHNOLOGIES-Attenuator-36H474. By the way, check out Grainger – they’ve got a lot of cool stuff!)
