So I gave up using the WordPress Astra theme for FolkDataProject.com and decided to try Elementor.
I spent a few days beating my head against the wall and finally gave up.
It really feels like the free version of Elementor would get me 90% of the way to where I want to go, but no further. They have lots of online help, but it’s all aimed at using the Pro version. I think they have targeted the pro features to include exactly the essential 10% that I needed.
So, I scrapped Elementor and, after trying a few different themes, settled on OceanWP.
I’ve also lowered my expectations.
I’m spending too much time building a website and not creating content for it. I need to be creating content. The website doesn’t need to be perfect or award-winning.
I’ve got a few more things to do on the website and then I can start focusing on making content.
