I’m trying to build out the FolkDataProject.com website. WordPress with an Astra theme.
Seemed okay to start with, but then I noticed that the widgets on the right-hand side column had too much vertical space between them. Turns out Astra can’t tweak that with the free version.
Move on to hacking the CSS. Several late-night sessions later, I gave up. I still don’t know why. I know HTML. I know CSS. I don’t know WordPress or the Astra theme.
So – time to restart. It’s always a little scary to click that “delete website” button.
Time to try Elementor. I’m still working through tutorials. I’m hoping it won’t take too long to get to the point where I can get to making content and not making a website, despite the fact that it’s kind of fun playing with new stuff.
